About Hospice

When the focus of medical care changes from cure to comfort, Optimal Hospice Care can provide physical, emotional, practical and spiritual support for the entire family.

Optimal works together with patients and their families to enhance their quality of life.  By utilizing the most modern pain and symptom management techniques combined with a compassionate support system, hospice helps to reduce the overwhelming stress and anxiety that can come with caring for a loved one with a life limiting illness.  Hospice care is provided wherever the patient lives, whether in a private residence, nursing home, or residential care facility.

Things You Should Know About Hospice

  • Our services are provided in your own home
  • Hospice patients do not have to be bedridden, homebound, or in the last days of life to receive services
  • Hospice provides care for adults, children, and infants
  • Hospice services are available for those affected by any type of life-limiting condition, including but not limited to cancer, heart disease, lung disease, AIDS, neurological disorders, and renal disease
  • Anyone can call Optimal Hospice for information, or to initiate a referral
  • Hospice nurses are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide peace of mind and support to patients and their families
  • If the patient's condition improves and the disease seems to be in remission, a discharge from hospice care can be arranged and the patient can return to aggressive therapy or go on about daily life.  Discharged patients may return to hospice at later time.
