Certified Home Health Aide/Hospice Aide (CHHA)

 

The Aide must have successfully completed a training program approved by the California State Department of Health Services. One (1) year experience as a Home Health Aide in the last two years is preferred. Must have a valid California driver’s license and a reliable automobile with valid insurance coverage. Also must pass a pre-employment physician’s health clearance with a negative TB test and have a current CPR certification. The Aide works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and provides personal care to the patient such as: taking vital signs, bathing the patient, back rubs, oral hygiene, changing bed linen, and may assist with dressing and feeding the patient, and also may ambulate the patient and in exercises as prescribed. Plans and prepares meals according to the care plan. Observes and reports any changes in patients condition to the RN. Must have understanding of working with terminally ill patients and their families/caretakers. The Aide must adhere to all safety policies and procedures and Standard Precautions.
