Kids Camp

ImageThe loss of a loved one touches each member of the family, including children.  To help young people through their bereavement, Optimal Hospice Foundation created Kids Camp. This summer camp program is specially designed for young people ages 8-18 that have experienced the loss of an immediate family member during the past year.

At Kids Camp, young people enjoy traditional camping activities, such as swimming and hiking, in an atmosphere where both staff and fellow campers understand their special needs.

Kids Camp is currently held in the Bakersfield and Fresno areas and is open to the community. With generous support from the community, this innovative experience is available at no cost to families.

Light Up A Life
ImageOptimal Hospice Foundation hosts several local remembrance celebrations throughout California and invites the community to sponsor a light on a tree in memory of a loved one or to honor someone living.

Ceremonies include a tree lighting, music by local musicians and the reading of memorial names by hospice nurses and volunteers. All proceeds from light sponsors will help provide hospice services in the local community.

Fundraising Events
Through a series of fundraising events, Optimal Hospice Foundation helps raise money to help fill the gap in funding for hospice families who are underinsured or uninsured. These annual events include a rodeo and a glow-in-the-dark golf tournament that plays through the night.

To learn how to participate in or sponsor any of these special events, please contact Optimal Hospice Foundation at (661) 716-8000.
