Kids Camp
At Kids Camp, young people enjoy traditional camping activities, such as swimming and hiking, in an atmosphere where both staff and fellow campers understand their special needs. Kids Camp is currently held in the Bakersfield and Fresno areas and is open to the community. With generous support from the community, this innovative experience is available at no cost to families.
Light Up A Life Ceremonies include a tree lighting, music by local musicians and the reading of memorial names by hospice nurses and volunteers. During this time of reflection, the heartfelt messages of poems and verses often provide peace and comfort. My First Christmas in Heaven is a special poem for those experiencing the holidays for the first time without their loved one. To view the poem, click here.

Foundation Events

The loss of a loved one touches each member of the family, including children. To help young people through their bereavement, Optimal Hospice Foundation created Kids Camp. This summer camp program is specially designed for young people ages 8-18 that have experienced the loss of an immediate family member during the past year.
Optimal Hospice Foundation hosts several local remembrance celebrations throughout California during the month of December and invites the community to sponsor a light on a tree in memory of a loved one or to honor someone living. All proceeds from light sponsors help provide hospice services in the local community.
