ImageOptimal Hospice Care provides care for patients, but also invests in the local community to enhance understanding about end-of-life issues. Optimal shares a series of courses with the local community free of charge.

Many people feel ill-equipped to discuss the end stages of life and delay planning and talking about wishes until it is too late. Through these presentations, people can feel empowered and equipped with simple ways to make a difference in their own future care, as well as support others with confidence and compassion.

Popular presentations include:

  • Hospice 101: An introduction to the philosophy of hospice care
  • Caregiving: Special ways to provide care at the end stages of life
  • Death & Dying: Common fears, physical symptoms and how to help at the end of life
  • Living with Grief: Understanding the grief process and how to work through it
  • Nutrition and Hydration at the End of Life
  • Pain Management and Comfort Care
  • Volunteering: Importance and impact of hospice volunteers

Common Audiences include:

  • Civic groups
  • Professional organizations
  • Faith-based communities
  • Classes for college healthcare programs or adult schools
  • Community conferences
  • Health fairs

If you are interested in having a representative speak to your group, please contact your local office and we will design a presentation to meet your individual needs.
