Meeting Each Child’s NeedsMedical Care: A nurse is always on duty and the team closely monitors and documents medical conditions, communicating changes and concerns with the family, as well as their primary physician or specialist. This medical supervision and coordination of care helps maintain the highest quality of care possible in an environment that is comfortable and stress-free for the child. Socialization: At Caring Corner children can interact with others, feel normal and build friendships, giving relief to the isolation many children face, due to the difficulty of leaving home without medical supervision. Education: The nursing team offers helpful caregiving instruction, as well as information and guidance to parents about the disease, treatments or medications. Development: Staff members design fun activities and assist each child in achieving their individual development goals by tailoring each activity to their ability. Therapy: Some children have additional therapies ordered by their physician that Caring Corner can facilitate, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or psychological support. Care for Health: Caring Corner offers nutritional and medication assistance and has medical equipment and supplies available in case of emergencies.
